Therefore, theoretically speaking, the more supports the horizontal container has, the better.

But in fact, the horizontal container should be designed as a double support as much as possible. This is because when there are more than two fulcrums, the influence of each support plane, such as the curvature and partial out-of-roundness of the container body, and the levelness of the support , The inhomogeneity of the subsidence of the foundation of each support, the relative rigidity of different parts of the container against partial intersection, etc., will all affect the distribution of the support reaction force. Therefore, the use of multi-supports not only does not show the theory of superiority, but will increase the unevenness of the force on the container, which will affect the operation safety of the storage tank. Therefore, there should not be more than two horizontal container supports in general. The ring seat is generally for large diameter and thin wall. The leg support is referred to as outrigger for short, because this kind of support will form serious partial stress at the connection with the container shell wall, so it is only suitable for small equipment (DN1600, L≤5m).
