The Distillation Test System is a key experimental device used for process development, scale-up simulation, and separation and purification. The Automatic Distillation Apparatus accurately replicates the industrial distillation process at a laboratory scale, providing a reliable platform for studying the separation behavior of multi-component mixtures, determining key process parameters, and validating theoretical models. Core Working Principle

 

 

 

  • Heating and Boiling: The feedstock is heated to boiling in the reboiler, generating rising vapor.
  • Gas-Liquid Mass Transfer: The vapor rises in the distillation column and countercurrently contacts the liquid returning from the top of the column on the packing or trays. During this process, high-volatility components continuously transfer from the liquid phase to the vapor phase, while low-volatility components transfer from the vapor phase to the liquid phase.
  • Condensation and Reflux: The vapor enriched with light components that reaches the top of the column enters the condenser and is fully or partially condensed. A portion of the condensate is returned to the top of the column as reflux, providing the necessary liquid phase for the distillation column; the remaining portion is collected as distillate.
  • Purification and Concentration: In the reboiler in the bottom of the column, the heavy components are continuously purified and concentrated, and then discharged as the bottom liquid.
  • The entire process achieves high-purity separation of components by establishing temperature and concentration gradients between the top and bottom of the column.
